You were always there
Through good times and bad
I'll always remember
The good times we had
From walking across the yard
You holding my hand
To building a birdhouse
or planting seeds in the land
You took me in
Accepted me as your own
Gave me safety,
And a loving home
Sneaking off to find you
At such a young age
Time has flown to fast
I'm not ready to turn the page
I'm laying here writing
Choking back tears
Thinking about you leaving
Trying to calm the fears
I know I never told you
Although I knew I should
I hoped it wouldn't come to this
But I always knew it would
I need to see you
Before you go
I need to tell you that I love you
Because I don't think that you know
